An emulsifier and emulsion stabilizer, GMS SE is also used as an emollient and viscosity builder in creams and lotions. Used as an opacifying and pearlizing agent in surfactant systems. Biodegradable and practically non-toxic orally and it causes no skin and minimal eye irritation. Dispersible in water, soluble in oil and alcohol.
