Ordering Problems?

Having a problem placing or completing your order?
- Most of the problems people used to have when placing an order were due to old equipment and software and have since disappeared
as the old was replaced. On the rare occasion we still have a client have a problem it is usually one of the following reasons. If
you still have old equipment or are using an old browser, you may wish to scroll further down the page to the 2007 info.
- If your cookies are turned off, you will be unable to place an order. Miva needs to place a cookie on your computer so it can
remember the contents of your order (cart). You can turn your cookies back on in your Internet Options.
- If you have set your security settings in your browser too high, it may prevent you from placing an order. These
settings can also be adjusted in your Internet Options.
- If you're experiencing a problem, the first things to try are to clear your browser's cache, reboot your computer and
then return to the site.
- If the problem you're experiencing is on the final order completion payment screen where you enter your credit card info,
and you're paying by a non-credit card method but it's not accepting zeros in the payment fields, it may be because your
computer is seeing these credit card fields and requires you to enter the full 16 digits. If this is the case, simply enter
16 digits instead of just a zero. This is likely due to some setting on your computer, as we have the non-credit card methods
payment fields set up to not require any specific character or number of characters.
- Remember too that our Miva Merchant ordering system is just that, an ordering system to provide us with all the data
to begin to process your order. It is not a real time payment gateway and has no way of knowing what the size, weight or number
of boxes in your shipment will be, nor has it any way to figure shipping. That is done offline after we have packed,
weighed and measured the order and entered all the info into the shipping database at the time the order is shipping out. If you

- Are cookies disabled on your computer?
If the problem you are experiencing involves the cart being
empty even after you've added items to you order, it may be due to having
cookies disabled in your browser settings.
Unless you have customized your privacy settings, your Web
browser will already have cookies enabled. Miva Merchant, our shopping cart
software, maintains a client's session ID using a cookie that is stored on
your computer. This cookie links you to your shopping cart. Each time a Web
page is loaded, Miva Merchant reads this cookie and keeps your shopping cart
current. This is our only use of cookies on our site. No personal or
shopping item information are stored in this cookie.
If you have cookies disabled in your browser, Miva Merchant will try to read
the session ID from an expected cookie file. Since Miva Merchant won't be
able to read the cookie, it simply creates a new session ID, and assigns a
new, empty basket. This will be a problem, as you will continually find an
empty basket.
If you need to enable cookies for ordering on our site, information for
various browsers is below. Please note it's also a good idea to reboot after
enabling cookies, before returning to our site.
- Have you met our $100 minimum order?
If you order less than our minimum, you will get a screen telling you
our minimum has not yet been met. Our Miva Merchant shopping cart will
not process an order less than our minimum as we do not accept orders less
that our $100 minimum. To complete your order please continue shopping
and add more items to bring your order up above $100.
- Have you gone all the way through the ordering process?
You must complete the order all the way through for it to be completed and submitted
to us. After adding all the items to your order, select Complete Order and
fill in the information on the various address, shipping and payment screens,
clicking on the Continue button when done each page. At the end you will
get a page telling you your order has been submitted.
- Did you enter payment info on the payment screen?
Even if you have selected and are paying by a non credit card payment method, those
credit card type fields on the payment screen still have to have something
(a zero will suffice), a character typed into them for the order to complete.
You also need to select any expiry date.
- Have you tried refreshing or reloading the page?
- Have you tried clearing your browser's cache?
- Have you tried rebooting your computer?
- Have you tried leaving our site and returning?
Often just going offline and returning to the site can work too.
- Our shopping cart has never been "down" once in the years we've been
using Miva Merchant. The problems encountered have always been on the client's
side. Some of the other most common problems are caused by bad security patches.
Unfortunately they don't seem to debug these updates before releasing them
and they can cause all kinds of problems, including interfering with the
proper functioning of shopping carts. Currently we are aware of one of these
problems in particular, with some Mac computers and an Internet Explorer
patch/update. There is a problem with Macs and their SSL. If you have this
set up you'll likely be unable to place an order with that browser and it's
faulty update. Netscape may work fine though. Or you can order from a PC. New
Macs seem to have solved this problem.
- Orders that haven't been completed (shopping cart basket
contents and session ID's) will remain on this site for 24 hours. If your
computer crashes, you experience a power outage, or need to stop in the
middle of an order, you can return any time within 24 hours and
continue/complete your order. As long as you are accessing the site from the
same computer, the order will show when you return and click on View/Edit
Order.
- If you've tried everything and still can't get your order to go through or if
your computer or internet connection is down, we can place the order for you on the
web site. You can either email all the info and phone in the payment info, or you
can include all the info on a fax. We'll need all your contact info including name,
company name (if any), postal mailing address, phone number and email address, the items
you want to order including the product code, name and quantity (we don't need the price),
the shipping method and your payment info including the cardholder's name, credit card
number and expiry date.
How to Enable Cookies
Internet Explorer
Version 6 - Windows Users
If your settings are to block cookies, you will need to do the following:
To customize your privacy settings for individual Web sites
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Privacy
tab.
Click Edit.
- In the Address of Web site box, type the complete address of the Web
site for which you want to specify custom privacy settings (http://www.oshun.ca).
- Click Allow to always allow cookies from our shopping cart to be saved
on your computer.
Versions 5, 5.01, and 5.5 - Windows Users
If your settings are to block cookies, you will need to do the following:
- Click Tools, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab.
- Click on Internet, and then click Custom Level.
- Under Cookies, choose the option that says, Prompt before accepting
cookies or Always accept cookies, click OK.
Versions 3 and 4 - Windows Users
- Click View, click Internet Options, and then click the Advanced tab.
- Scroll down to the yellow exclamation icon under Security, under
Cookies, check the box that says, Prompt before accepting cookies or
Always accept cookies, and then click OK.
Versions 3 and 4 - Mac OS Users
- Choose Preferences from the Edit menu.
- In the left panel of the Preferences window, under the Receiving Files
section, select Cookies.
- Make sure that the When receiving cookies pop-up menu is set to Never
ask if you don't want to be prompted.
- Click the OK button to save your preferences.
Netscape
Version 6 - Windows Users
- Click on the Edit menu on the Netscape tool bar.
- Highlight and click on Preferences at the bottom of the Edit menu.
- In Category sidebar, within the Preferences window, open Privacy and
Security.
- Click on Cookies.
- While in the Cookies window, click Enable cookies for the originating
Web site only.
- Click the Okay button to exit the window.
You can change your cookie setting to prompt you when our shopping cart is
wanting to store a cookie.
- While in the Cookies window, click Warn me before storing a cookie.
Version 4.x - Windows Users
- Click on the Edit menu on the Netscape tool bar.
- Highlight and click on Preferences at the bottom of the Edit menu.
- In Category sidebar, within the Preferences window, open Advanced.
- Click on Cookies.
- While in the Cookies section, click Accept only cookies that get sent
back to the originating server.
- Click the Okay button to exit the window.
You can change your cookie setting to prompt you when our shopping cart is
wanting to store a cookie.
- While in the Cookies window, click Warn me before accepting a cookie.
Mozilla
Using the Cookie Manager, you can specify how cookies should be handled by
setting your cookie preferences.
- Open the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
- Under the Privacy & Security category, choose Cookies. (If no
subcategories are visible, double-click the category to expand the list.)
- Click one of the radio buttons:
Enable cookies for the originating web site only: Choose this if you
don't want to accept or return Foreign cookies.
Enable all cookies: Choose this to permit all web sites to set
cookies on your computer and receive them back during subsequent visits.
- If you want to be notified when a web site tries to set a cookie, select
Warn me before storing a cookie. To customize your privacy settings for
individual Web sites
- Open the Tasks menu, choose Privacy & Security, and then choose Cookie
Manager.
- Choose Unblock Cookies from this Site
Opera
Version 5.01 - Windows Users
- Click on the File menu on the Opera tool bar.
- Highlight and click on Preferences at the bottom of the File menu.
- In sidebar, within the Preferences window, click Privacy.
- In Privacy window, select Only accept cookies for the server from the
second pull-down menu.
- Click the Okay button to exit the window.
