- Euphorbia cerifera
- A vegetable wax from a plant that grows in southern
Texas and northwestern Mexico
- This natural product is extracted by boiling the shrub.
The wax is then refined so the end product is a light
yellow pastille (bead)
- Non-toxic and non-irritating
- Candelilla is used in a variety of cosmetic and personal
care products including lip products. Has film forming and
water repellent qualities. Suited for uses where a firm
product is desired. Can be used to add hardness to other
waxes without increasing melt point. Can be used as a
glazing agent in food, confections and pharmaceuticals
- A vegan alternative to beeswax and for gelling oils in
nutraceutical applications
